This is the personal site for Ricardo Matsumura
de Araújo.
Ricardo is an assistant professor for the Computer Science
course
at Federal University of Pelotas (UFPel).
He has a PhD and a Master degree in Computer Science, given by UFRGS and is a Computer Engineer by
FURG. He enjoys
programming
and developing algorithms and applications, but is really fascinated
with
Artificial Intelligence.
November / 2009: presented my thesis to the evaluating comittee and
it was approved. I now have a PhD!
July
/ 2009: presented a poster at the 2009 International Symposium on
Combinatorial Search, at Lake Arrowhead, CA (USA). Attended IJCAI-09 at
Pasadena, CA.
November / 2008: travelling to Dayton, Ohio, to present a
paper at ICTAI-08.
July / 2008: travelling to Chicago to present my paper at
AAAI-08.
June / 2008: changing jobs. Now I'm a full-time professor at UFPel, lecturing
for the Computer Science course.
April / 2008: got a full paper accepted at AAAI
2008. Posters for GECCO
and
ECAI.
All of them present aspects of the Memetic Network Algorithm I've been
working on.
January
/ 2007: just got back from IJCAI-07, where I went to present my work
with information creation in multi-agent economic scenarios. People
seemed to have enjoyed.
December / 2006: I presented the
initial version of my PhD thesis to the examiners. They liked the work
done so far and think the proposal can really break new grounds. Some
criticism were well placed and will help polishing everything.
October / 2006: I received a honorable mention for my master
degree's thesis at the International
Joint Conference. The award was given at a contest for the
best AI thesis.
